About Us

Here at PoolsideCats we breed Bengal and Savannah cats for a working hobby.
We are located in south central Brevard county, Florida.
You can call us at 321.674.9110

We are a small in home cattery. None of our cats or kittens are housed in an out building. Most of our cats have free run of a screened in pool area along with many places within our home. All of our kittens are born inside and raised underfoot. And we mean underfoot. :-))  All of our  breeding cats are TICA registered. Our Bengal breeders are SBT Bengals. Our breeder cats are at least F5 or more. We decided to work with SBT Bengals rather than closer generations to the Asian Leopard Cat. F1's and F2's are great looking cats...we just wanted to concentrate on SBT Bengal cats.

Our Savannah cats have bred, so stay tuned, or place a deposit to be the first to own one of our first Savannah kits.

We will ship out kittens within the USA. Sorry no out of the country shipping.  Shipping costs are extra!

I do have a transporter who can meet you on the road when her schedule allows. Fee for gas.

I go on road trips within Florida, sometimes I try to work in a transfer meeting for new cat owners. Let me know if you are interested in meeting any of us some place between your place and ours.
Many of our clients have come to Florida for a vacation, then picked up their Bengal for the trip home.

There is a lot to learn about HCM.

One of the things I have learned it is not just pedigree cats who come down with HCM. HCM heart disease can strike any cat. I have a client who had a beautiful blue cat named "Gus" who came from the shelter. He passed away at a early age from HCM. We started having our breeder cats HCM screened in 2009. I may not be able to screen as often as I would like, but I do feel screening is important.

Each breeder has his/her way of doing things, and their own comfort zone. Not saying any way is wrong, just different... My comfort zone is screening our breeder cats when I can afford to do so. Let it be said, it is costly, and very time consuming...

Some breeders say they have not had any issues with HCM so feel no need to scan, others say they need more information on it being a genetic issue before they have this added expense.... I'm not really sure the signs of HCM, it is pretty silent...except for maybe heart murmurs in kittens or a breeder cat that died and as necropsy explains what the cause of death was.

Here are some links with more information on HCM.

Being a breeder, anything can come up with our kittens. The odds are higher because of the amount of kittens born each year. BUT I feel it is how we as breeders react, and ethicly take care of any issues that come across our path. I feel doing the right thing is far better than making a sale on the next kitty. We give a 2 year health guarantee (from contract date) on all of our kittens and cats...even the retirees. Again this is my comfort zone. I feel by offering this to my buyers, I will be contacted should one of our cats pass away and be provided a necropsy which my vet can go over and talk with the vet who preformed it. If I am not made aware of a kitten where something has gone wrong then how can I continue to work on producing healthy kittens. Things happen, but we have to work as a team - you as the owner of a kitty - you need to do your part and I need to do mine.

The spoiled girls they are... :-)) They get to run free in the screened in pool area. Our screened in pool area is about 1500 sq. ft. so spoiled - you bet! We have a walking bridge over the pool for them to run over, and to push each other off of into the swimming pool.

Outside poopy house for the free roaming girls....

We keep our kings in pens, the size of the pens vary, they are 6 feet high x 8 to 10 feet long. Each pen has a shelf making the pens two story. They love to hang out on the top looking down on all the girls running free around the pool... The pens are large enough for fun when they have girlfriends. Each pen has running water, a large litter box. Each litter box has the king's name on the box so when they are washed they go back into the correct pen. In each pen we have a large trash can loaded with cleaning supplies and fresh litter - ready at hand. The cats love to hang out on the lids, and I love that the supplies are readily available when I need to make a quick clean up. We have spare beds - spare food bowl, water bowls in the trash cans.

A couple of weeks before the mom is to deliver the queen moves into their 7 foot cage we have in our main rooms. We feel it is better to have the kittens born in a super large cage instead of under a bed, or on the sofa. (yuck!) This way we don't need to seek out the babies. The birthing cages are large enough to house our "large" size litter box, a tent, birthing bed, a shelf so mom can get away and still look down on babies, even a small scratching post. Each cage has curtains around them so to give mom and babies some privacy, curtains keep drafts away from babies too.

Our Bengal kittens and cats will come with health records and age contract. Our kitties will get a wellness check up from a vet before leaving for their new home. All of our pet kittens will be fixed before leaving for their forever home. We give a 2 Year health guarantee. (from date of contract - NOT on kitties age!)
